Risk Management Officer

Job Description

This position provides services to the Credit Risk, Operational; Market & Liquidity risks management sections of AUB, Risk Management department. The activities for this position is adapted based on AUB Risk Management Policy, Credit, Operational, Market & Liquidity risks management Procedures & Frameworks.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analysing funded & Non-funded credit proposals to evaluate risks, and recording the risk observations.
  • Ensure compliance of statutory and corporate policies, guidelines.
  • Review and update credit risk control measures and/or policies.
  • Assesses the risk exposure of each proposal.
  • Assists with day-to-day tasks concerning portfolio management, analyses quality of overall portfolio and periodically furnishing observations.
  • Initiates and maintains contacts with commercial departments (Credit Managers) and advisory departments (e.g. for legal advice) regarding format and content of the credit proposals and, if relevant, the counterparty limit [and country limit] requests.
  • Identification, assessment, measurement, monitoring and mitigation of credit risk, market risk, operational risk and various other risks.
  • Preparation of models, frame works, policies and other required documents for management of various risks.
  • Preparation of excel sheet reports, notes, agendas, analysis of risks and other papers for BOM, BOS meetings and submission to Regulators.
  • Assist in conducting various committee meetings, training programs relating to Risk Management Department including preparation of agenda, presentations and minutes.
  • Maintaining effective co-ordination with all the related departments in various risk management activities. 

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Banking, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 2 years banking experience which includes credit evaluation, cash flow and project risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of corporate accounts is essential.
  • Strong skills in identifying and detecting the risks, involved in the various aspects of the bank.
  • Ability to use MS-Office packages.
  • Being professional, disciplined and hard worker.

Skills

  • Ability to read and write Afghan local languages as well as English.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data.
