The affairs of the Bank are managed by highly qualified, professional, experienced and seasoned bankers. The Management Board of the Bank and the Audit Committee are providing quality leadership for effective administration of the bank.
Mr. N S Narayan Rao is a professional and qualified banker from India with more than 37 years of banking experience.
His areas of expertise include Credit Appraisal, Risk Management, Audit & Inspection, Vigilance, Trade and Branch Banking. He has in-depth understanding of business processes and worked as General Manager with State Bank of India. Mr. Narayan Rao is a Graduate in Economics-Honors, and holds a Master’s degree in Economics with Statistics as special paper he is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, India.
Mr. Mobin Ahmad Amin is Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Afghan United Bank. He serves as a member of the Bank’s Board of Management team. He has rich experience in Credit, Operations, Corporate Strategy, Finance, and Corporate Governance, having more than 11 years of experience in the banking and financial sector of Afghanistan.
He has an outstanding flair for customer acquisition and relationship management.
Mr. Amin is MBA qualified in Finance as well as he has got his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – specializing in Finance.
Mohammad Islam is a result driven, enthusiastic, young and enterprising techno banker who was born on 21-Jan-1983 in Paktia, Afghanistan.
Having completed his studies and acquired his CPA (Certified Public Accounted) membership in 2013 and acquired a BBA honors Degree in finance from AL-KHIAR University (AJK) he continued his academic pursuit and while working as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) completed the prestigious and rigorous Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) course to become the first such Expert in Afghanistan.
As the Chief Information Officer of Afghan United Bank, he ably led a large team of more than 30 members comprising of novices and experts in the field of Information Technology and Banking. A big believer in team work, Mohammad Islam, delivered several challenging projects by motivating the younger generation to come forward and take responsibilities.
A well-known name and face in the Afghanistan banking sector, Mohammad Islam has been associated for over 13 years with the country’s banking landscape. Starting with Azizi Bank, where he spent over 2 years, his major stint was with Afghan United Bank (AUB), where he successfully managed the roles and responsibilities of the Core Banking Head, for over 7 years and the Chief Information Officer, for nearly 3 years. His capabilities were duly recognized and he was identified to serve as member of the Board of Management of AUB.
During his tenure as the Head of Core Banking, Mohammad Islam has successfully delivered three major transformational projects that changed the profile of the bank. These were:
Implementation of Centralized Core banking application FLEXCUBE from Oracle along with Internet Banking and ATM delivery channels,
Upgradation of FLEXCUBE core banking and Internet banking applications, and Implementation of Islamic banking solution.
All these projects were completed within budgets and time schedules.
Given his flair for teaching and grooming others, Mr. Islam had started his career at APDA as a Computer Technical Trainer for governmental employees in Kabul. In addition, he was a core banking trainer at Azizi Bank and has also been actively associated with training the trainers of branches at Afghan United Bank.
Not only has Mohammad Islam demonstrated his skills as an Information Technology professional with an ITIL expertise, he has exhibited his acumen in the general banking domain by carrying out important roles in the areas of Credit Analysis, Branch Management, Commercial Banking, and Credit Risk.
Recipient of many awards and accolades in his illustrious career, Mohammad Islam has, in November 2018, been recognized as the Best Manager of Afghanistan in banking sector and received the award from Peace Media & Good Governance Institute of Afghanistan.
After gaining a rich experience in Banking, Information Technology, General Management and Leadership, Mohammad Islam is now looking forward to a new role that of an Advisor so that he can share his knowledge and learnings with the local Afghans in order to build high performing individual committed to the building of a great nation.
Mr. Deepak Gupta is a seasoned and highly empowered professional with 18+ years of experience in the domain of Retail & Wholesale Banking Operations. He is Post Graduate of Public Administration & HRM from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He also possesses a Diploma in Computer Applications & a certified trainer in BFSI from the Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD).
Mr. Gupta has worked with IndusInd Bank Limited as Regional Operations Head & Nodal Officer and he has a long working stint with HDFC Bank as Cluster Head & Regional Head-QIG across regional geography. Mr. Gupta has vast experience in Process Management & Operations, Clearing House management, regulatory compliance, liability operations, commercial loan operations, loan processing & servicing, quality assurance, People Management, Change Management, Customer servicing, General Administration, Business Development, e-Age Banking, Corporate Communication, KYC & AML & Fraud detection.
Mr. Rashed Golbhary, is a seasoned banker with having of over 13 years of experience in the Banking industry in Afghanistan and having a Bachelor`s degree from India and a Master’s degree in Finance from Kardan University, underwent various certified courses in IFRS/IAS, Accounting Standards & Banking trainings, he has been working with Afghan United Bank since 2009 and elevated to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Nov 2021. He has a diversified experience in finance and accounting, banking operation and risk management.
Mr. Sayed Arif Amini is a seasoned banking professional, having more than 12 years of banking experience.
Mr. Amini is working in the capacity of Acting Chief Credit Officer of Afghan United Bank and he has expertise in various credit functions of the bank.
Mr. Amini holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and has several certificates in Credit Management, Portfolio Management, Credit appraisal, Risk Management, and banking.
Mr. Farid Ahmad is a professional banker with 11 years of banking expertise in various managerial positions in Audit, Finance, and Islamic banking areas. He is ably managing the Islamic Banking Window as Acting CIBO since November 2018.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Qurtuba University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Peshawar University, Pakistan.
He has numerous diplomas and certificates in banking and finance from various institutes, as well as an Islamic Banking Diploma and a Fund Management Certificate from the Al Huda Center of Islamic Banking & Economics.
