Board of Supervisors
The Board of Supervisors of Afghan United Bank has always consisted of distinguished and eminent locals as well as experienced ex-bankers with global perspective. The Board has been equipped to provide direction and guidance to Management of the Bank for conducting the bank’s affairs in the most prudent manner.
Consequent upon the change of Ownership of the bank, on the advice of DAB, the Board is being reconstituted by the new owners so as to broad base the participation from different segments.
Mr. Pradeep Vohra is a corporate and banking professional with 40 years plus experience in public and private sectors, Spanning Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Relationship Management, Retail & Wholesale banking, Credit, Forex Management, and Trade Finance.
He started his career with the State Bank of India in 1977 as a Probationary Officer and served over 24 years before switching to the leading Indian Private Sector Bank, IndusInd Bank Ltd, and retired in 2016 as part of the Top Management of the Bank.
He was subsequently President of a Fin tech start-up based out of Delhi, India.
He is BA(Hons) in Economics from Punjab University, India, and MBA (Finance and Marketing) from University Business School, Punjab University, India.
He has also qualified as a CAIIB from the Indian Institute of Bankers.
Mr. Noor Karim is a Chartered Accountant from ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and a fellow of the ACCA Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, with over 13 years of professional experience.
Mr. Noor is a certified compliance professional with SCA – UAE (Securities and Exchange Authority in UAE and a member of The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, UK.
He is presently a Partner in a Consultancy and advisory company in Dubai, UAE. He has been the founding director of Crowe Horwath Afghanistan (the world’s 9th largest accounting network). While leading Crowe Horwath, he has been responsible for audits of several banks including

- Arian Bank
- Pashtany Bank
- Bakhtar Bank
- Azizi Bank
- Bank Millie Afghan
He has also served as an International Consultant for the UNDP Projects in Tajikistan.
Mr. Matiullah Faeeq has vast banking experience; he was working with Da Afghanistan Bank (Central Bank of Afghanistan) as Chief Economist and Head of the Supervision Department. Subsequently, he worked as Director of ETDB, as a Board Member with Al-Bashir Exchange and MSP, and as Vice President with Kabulixir Financial Consulting Services.
Mr. Faeeq has a Master’s degree in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University and another Master’s degree in Science in Economics from International Islamic University, Islamabad.
Mr. Kajal Ghose is a banking professional with over 40 years of experience covering areas of Business Development, and heading leadership roles. He has also led (and been a founder of) Analytics and Social Media Banking for India’s largest bank, in addition to being a leader in Technology and Digital Banking. He worked in the areas of Credit, Personnel, Organizational Planning, New Businesses, and Corporate Strategy of the Bank.
He started his career as a Probationary Officer with the State Bank of India in 1978 and worked as a career Banker with them till he retired as Chief General Manager of SBI in 2016.
Since retirement, he is an Independent Director on the Board of Utkarsh SF Bank, and an Advisor to PayU India. He has also been a Consultant to Stratosphere IT Services Pvt Ltd, as also to Kovid Analytics Solutions India Ltd.
Mr. Feroz Qyami has more than 12 years of professional experience both in the public and private sectors.
He has served as CEO of Afghan United Bank where his main achievements were strengthening corporate governance, developing new policies and procedures, improving compliance regime, and initiating a host of other business reforms.
Previously, he had worked with Da Afghanistan Bank, the central bank of Afghanistan, where he served as the head of the AML/CFT compliance section and later as Deputy Director General Financial Supervision Department. He holds an MBA degree from Swiss- UMAF University of Afghanistan and a BBA from the American University of Afghanistan.
